Wayland made their return to Grand Rapids & The Intersection on 5.30.2015. Unfortunately, that’s the same weekend New Kids on the Block, Nelly and TLC were also in town so trying to book a room downtown was impossible. Grand Rapids would totally sell out for that junk-ass-bill at the Van Andel Arena that night. Typical Grand Rapidians. Besides all the action going down in GR that night, there was still a huge crowd that fought the high traffic volumes (and poor weather) to get into the Intersection and watch their favorite rock band, Wayland.

Royal Bliss was performing their set when I walked in, I found out later they are a huge band from Salt Lake City.  Wayland and Royal Bliss have teamed up to headline a national tour together and things seem to be working out well for both bands, drawing larger numbers than ever.
Wayland took the stage like seasoned vets, and performed a fine tuned set- with many changes and new songs worked in. With such a well polished sound, and full control of their stage presence, I felt like Wayland made a statement with the way they played this show. Showing their professionalism every time they go to work, night after night should be enough to show and prove these boys have earned their spot. But these guys take the stage each night with the same poise as every other night- ready to deliver a show. Thanks for having me out fellas.
