I met up with Nolan the Ninja to dig for some records on Record Store Day, 2015. We met at Hello Records in Detroit off Trumbull. Vinyl lovers were there bright and early to start adding to their collections, as early as 9:30am. Myself- no longer a serious vinyl record curator, I strolled up casually at about 1 pm to find Nick Speed about to take over the turntables. I snapped a few pictures, and since avoided getting too deep into the bins of records that day- I just snagged Nick Speeds hard-to-get-your-hands-on album, “The Beat Down”. Satisfied; I poured myself a local Detroit brew and enjoyed the atmosphere, taking pictures of some new friends, and some old. It was a beautiful summer day in Detroit (its only the beginning of Spring really), and with Nick Speed on the turntables, it filled the air with good vibes and made for a funky social event at Hello Records in Detroit.
